Why the NEW LOCATION, AGAIN???

I was NOT my intention to uproot my business yet AGAIN. Yes, I love change. Yes, I love variety. But moving? Naaaaaa....not high on the list of things I love to do. But for a variety of reasons, the SE space & I were meant to only have a short-life together. Silver lining however, is that I'm right back in the neighborhood where I began my practice in 2003, and the neighborhood in which I now live. The directions are easy:

I've found a new home for my private practice in the Portland Hills Mind & Body Clinic amongst other amazing practitioners. I share my space with Charles Grey, LaC. It's a different side to Mana, but my studio schedule allows me to cultivate my On Site On Set On Tour Practice. I feel very blessed to have the support and encouragement that I do in my life. My direction has done a bit of a loop-di-doop lately, but I feel on track now...

Why the new logo, you ask?

Yup, I discovered that if you want to play with the big dogs, you best prepare for a bite or two. That's what happened with my mic logo...seems that a little ole company called Shure didn't like me using their trademarked image. Oops! In biz, I've discovered, you learn as you go along...I will admit, I felt set-back and a bit heartbroken. Like all that I've worked to establish for my career was for not. I even (gasp) felt, for a mere moment, as though I was heading in the wrong direction entirely with massage. Like this was a sign or something. I was blue. I've been dwelling in hermit-ville. And I forced myself into yet another TIME OUT. You know what I discovered? It's completely OK to push the "pause button" every once in awhile. Now, I'm ready to come out and play...

टाइम आउट...

Ok, for some reason the title of this blog is automatically translating itself into Hindi....I'm not sure what that means right now. I'll have to marinade on that. Thoughts? So, it means, "TIME OUT". I've just discovered (and given myself permission) to take one. I feel like a million things have happened since I closed the doors to Mana on Burnside in November. I thought the month of December sabbatical would be ample time to recharge and refuel for the next chapter. But oh, no...much to my surprise, my body took over my brain this time and has forced me to pay attention and practice what I preach. My body was hurting. My energy was hurting. I paid attention and gave myself what I needed most: rest. And I'm rebooted in a new direction. A slower pace. And that feels good. I highly recommend it.
