Happy New Year, Silly Rabbit!

It's here! It's here!  Happy, Happy New Year!
The sun is shining on this snow-covered day-YAY! My newly cleaned windows and crystals are shining bright and I'm enjoying each spoonful of homemade wonton soup before I skip off to work.   I think one of my favorite parts about the rituals of Chinese New Year is starting the day off with something sweet to eat, to ensure that all the days that follow will be sweet too!  My choice of sweetness was (is) sweet coconut purple sticky rice~YUM.  Don't forget your little bit of sweetness today too, guilt free!  And my fruits of abundance, health & color set the mood for 2011 too.

And remember some other great New Year's Day Morsels of Wisdom:

  • speak kindly and gently to everyone you meet
  • laugh a lot
  • refrain from using bad words or negative words today (and every day really!)
  • don't clean or take out the garbage today (no problem!)
  • wear something red!
  • eat something sweet (no problem!)
  • do not uses knives or scissors today (thought to cut away your fortune)
It is believed that appearance and attitude today sets the pace for the remaining days of the year...shine bright and go get 'em.

And it's good luck when you hear songbirds today.  When I first woke up to my Now & Zen clock, the next sound I heard was that of a plump little bird, soaking up the sun outside my kitchen window.

Year of the Rabbit is gonna rule, I can feel it!
